She's Gone Country....

Well, I finally gave in. I grew up in Idaho, lived in Nashville, TN, and this is my second stint in Texas, I have resisted country music, and all it stands for. Sure, I have been to rodeos and I have seen concerts...saw Tim McGraw before he met Faith Hill and he wasn't such a household name at the Blackfoot Fair. But, Nick got some sweet tickets to the Houston Rodeo and Brooks and Dunn concert. The rodeo has been a big deal, and people from all over have come and made traffic horrible. One of the subcontractors that Nick works with has a suite at the Reliant Center. VIP room, free food and drinks, nice seats, express elevator to the 8th floor, and everyone else having to go in "regular" seats looking at you so jealous that you have AWESOME VIP passes. The rodeo was pretty fun. I cheered loud for the Idahoan, he made it to the top four in the calf roping, but then missed the calf for first place...I think he came in 3rd. Watched the mutton bustin'...which was HILARIOUS! That is where they stick little kids on sheep and let them go...so cute. Little kids, like 3-4 years old, hanging onto the wool for all they're worth. The little girl that won had totally slipped onto the side of the sheep and was riding on it's side. It was fun.
Despite the free food, we wanted fair food, so we went back down to the carnival and ate. Went back up to the suite and watched the concert. I did know a lot of the songs, including "Boot Scoot Boogie", which I totally know the dance, and we went up into the little room and danced to it. It was awesome. I was reluctant to go, because I have a fear of crowds, and people in my space. There were a lot of people, for sure. Traffic was horrible, and it is still spring break so there were lots of kids. Kamille (such a wonderful person) watched Lexi, so we didn't need to worry about trying to navigate a stroller. Not everyone was as fortunate as we to have a babysitter, so there were lots of strollers. It was nice to have a date night. We don't do that often. We had fun. We even rode the ferris wheel and made out like teenagers! It was a good night. I have to say THANKS to Kamille. She not only watches Lexi all week for me, but took Lexi with her so Nick and I could go. THANKS KAMILLE, YOU'RE THE BEST!!!
And, to top it off..
I wore cowboy boots.
